Jordan Launches "J²AR" – A Joint Architectural Research Laboratory with Waseda University.

The Executive Office for Jordan's Participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai announced the official launch of the "J²AR" – the Jordan-Japan Architectural Research Laboratory – on August 15, 2024, at Al Hussein Technical University (HTU). This pioneering initiative, established in collaboration with Waseda University, aims to foster collaborative research and innovation in the field of architecture.

Modeled after the Japanese "Kenkyushitsu" system, J²AR will serve as a hub for joint research projects, student exchanges, and knowledge sharing between Jordanian and Japanese researchers.

Professor Furuya, whose architectural firm is overseeing the construction of the Jordanian Pavilion at Expo 2025, was invited by the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) to attend the launch event at HTU. His presence at the launch ceremony further solidified the strong partnership between Jordan and Japan in the field of architecture and design.

The J²AR is expected to serve as a long-term platform for academic collaboration, fostering enduring ties between Jordanian and Japanese institutions and contributing to the development of a new generation of architects and researchers.
